U7 Bears vs. Clitheroe Wolves 26th Oct 2019
Round five at the Yorkie Dome with assistant to the chief poet laureate lost somewhere up Burnley way. Bears start with a strong attacking line up in the traditional green and white hoops proudly sponsored by Go stroll with Tommy in goal, Jedi force of Elliott and Alex in defence, energy field of Jonah and Lucas attacking and super subs Luciano and Josh. Wolves are hungry but it is the Bears first to the ball as Alex whips in a shot that the keeper finds too hot to handle. Elliott breaks a three on one attack to set Jonah on his way down the wing crosses to Lucas who beats one defender to fire in the opening goal, great start as Bootroom tuck into a tasty late breakfast of the jabba paddy frog snacks supplied from Princess Leia’s snack bag. Tommy looks on enviously at the feast and fails to stop an unstoppable equaliser.
Wolves sense blood but Lucas uses his force to pick up a loose ball and give bears the lead again, there is nothing this young Jedi knight is afraid of as he uses his skill and speed to set up Jonah to power in a third. Alex sets up another attack as the bears overlapping centre backs overlap to find Lucas in space who calmly side foots in to claim another match ball hat trick. Wolves are not beaten yet and the big bad centre forward has predatory instinct to pull a goal back. Subs are on now with Josh straight in the action to Luciano whose left foot would give John Barnes a run in the who has the greatest left foot in football vote sets up Alex to shoot from the half way line a la Beckham to score the goal of the day.
Tommy makes a great goal line save but cannot keep a deflected free kick out as the wolves continue to huff and puff and try to blow the house down. Josh is linking well with Lucas and gets his name on the scoresheet after neat work from Luciano and Jonah’s sweet left foot breaks the net, half time.
Bootroom shuffle the pack with Jonah in goal and Tommy defending. Josh wins a free kick and plays a neat one two with Lucas and powers a thunderbolt the keeper has no chance, wolves are stunned now and Lucas adds to his tally and has time to set up Alex before a well-earned shower clutching the man of the match award. Elliott is trick and treating the crowd with tricks and treats as Josh follows up a Luciano shot to score from the rebound.
Wolves have re packed and different attacking strategy sees two quick fire goals but Alex controls the midfield as Luciano is strong in the tackle and pass to Josh with a twist and turn to Alex who finds space to fire low shot beyond reach of keeper to cap another great performance by the bears. Viking Access sponsored Bootroom delighted again with over 26 years experience in the access industry and the UK market leader of tracked spiders machines offering tailored and safe solutions to any working at height projects.
