With Bootroom restocked and the transfer window closing with a farewell wave to our European friends the Bears are weakened as leading scorer Josh fails a late fitness test leaving the five to start in the traditional green and white hoops proudly sponsored by Go Stroll of Jonah in goal, Elliott defending, midfield of Alex and Rocco with striker Lucas. Super subs are Luciano and Tommy.
The march to Wembley continues as the wanderers lose their way as the bears inspired by hat trick heroes Rocco and Jonah dominate from start to finish to join the Saints in the hat for the semi-final draw. With a swirling north westerly making conditions cold the bears are quick to test the goalie and Lucas finds space to fire the first goal. Rocco is comfortable on the ball to feed Alex who wins a corner which is invitingly crossed into the box but evades everyone across the goal line. Elliott takes a quick throw in allowing Rocco time and space to make no mistake with a crisp shot into bottom corner. Jonah is first to a through ball as the blacks try to get back into the game and Elliott finds Alex down the wing and with a step over and Cruyff turn sets Lucas on his way and unselfish pass to Rocco to score his second. This team are flowing now and hard to catch as wanderers glad to hear the half time whistle.
Second half is a repeat of the first with Luciano and Tommy working well in defence to prevent any possible comeback as Lucas takes the goalie gloves but has little to do all half. This allows Jonah to pick up a great pass from Rocco to score from close range. Rocco is having a man of the match type performance and deservedly gets his hat trick goal after Luciano had left two wanderers in a daze with a dribble and perfect pass. Alex is in the thick of the action and cross field pass for Jonah to get another goal and straight from the kick off Tommy’s strong tackle sets Jonah free to get his deserved hat trick. With the Saints coaching team spying in the bushes no team will want to draw these bears in the semi-final.
