Under 7 Bears take top spot in their ADJFL seeding group

After a tough week one, in a very tough group, the boys were excited to get going this week. We had a full squad, with Josh returning, so it was all set up for a great morning and it didn’t disappoint.

The boys kicked of the day against Junior Gardeners, settling into their stride straight away, with Jonah starting as he meant to go on with a faultless performance  covering at the back and sweeping up anything that crossed the half-way line, and breaking down the left when the opportunity presented itself. Some passing on show from all the boys was top-notch, with Josh and Tom H finding the back of the net.

Next came Wilpshire Wanderers black, with Elliot and Luciano on taking on the defensive responsibilities and doing an excellent job, it gave Jonah the freedom to go forward with Josh, and the boys bagged themselves a brace each in an even more commanding performance.

The third game of the day offered up one of the biggest tests of the day against Wilpshire Wanderers red and the boys had the chance to show how well they could defend as a team. It was a close run encounter being decided by the only goal of the game from Rocco.

Blackburn Eagles were next and by now the boys were in their stride, keeping their concentration despite some minor distractions from the side lines, with Jonah bagging a hat trick including 1 from the penalty spot.

The last game was again a close run thing, with a good side in Great Harwood Rovers Green.  The boys were excellent and came through victorious with another 2 for Josh and super Tommy B, who had 4 clean sheets to his name and had been a rock between the posts, only conceded once all morning in this the last match.

It was an absolute joy to watch with each and every one of the bears putting in man of the match performances all over the pitch, however the player of the tournament went to Jonah lord, who was just brilliant all morning in everything he did, scoring 5 times to add a cherry to his flawless performance.
