Rochdale Development Centre 1-1 Junior Hoops U16

GOAL:    Zak Fraser

MOM:     Shakil Ali

JHFC U16 turned up to Hyde United FCs ground to face Rochdale Development Centre. The opposition were very strong and after 5 minutes the Hoops realized they would be in a game.  The inform Hewitt was pushed aside by the powerful forward, and he put one on a plate for his strike partner.  Yet again the lads never panicked and rolled up their sleeves.  For the rest of the half Junior Hoops piled on the pressure and any attempt from the opposition to break through was quashed by Marshall and Ali.  Hewitt and Frost never got forward as much as they usually do, but they offered fair support and played really well.

White and Ashton linked up superb as always and were well-supported by the anchor man Hyde. Hyde also made his senior debut for Haslingden St Marys marking the beginning of his senior career. Hudson, Fraser and Scott have all the attributes to become a feared strike force and with better composure the trio could have had a few today. It was Fraser who scored the deserved equalizer after Scott narrowly missed a well worked opportunity.

Gibson was making his first team debut and Hamer also appeared for the Saints for his first game of the season.  Gibson looked solid and started a few attacks with his distribution and Hamer caused the Rochdale defenders some problems. Mounsey was due to start but unfortunately arrived late putting JHFC plans into chaos, when Mounsey got on at half time he showed quality, composure and unfortunately blazed one over with his weaker right foot.  Further chances fell to White and Hamer then with 5 minutes to go Fraser received a huge push in the back inside the box but it was on the blind side of the ref, and he failed to award a penalty.

The performance deserved a little more than a draw and left the opposition manager disappointed with his squad. The Result means 2 draws out of 2 for the Green and White army but the travelling fans were pleased with what they saw and on another day the lads would be returning home with all three points.
