U7 Saints Round Robin 14th July

Our first game was a close and entertaining affair against Mill Hill. Quite a lot went on. Mill Hill scored first, but we quickly equalized when Dom made a strong tackle and after winning the ball planted his shot in the corner of the net. He repeated the trick a few minutes later with the same result and when Charlie played an excellent pass through to Alfie he finished in style. Mill Hill came back strongly though and in no time were level. Charlie, who had gone in goal then had to come off after being accidentally trodden on making a fine save. Max Garvin also had to come off after bravely going for a header and being kicked in the face and having his lip split. Dom completed his hat trick after winning another tackle and coolly scoring. Kell then got in on the act with a fine run and a chipped finish but Mill Hill still weren’t finished and scored another goal but that the boys were able to keep them at bay thereafter.

Our second game was against Clitheroe. The first goal came after Josh finished a fine run with an excellent cross that Charlie finished well. Max Woodall then added to the score after intercepting a pass, before going on a strong run and finishing well. Dom scored another with an absolute rocket of a shot that left the keeper with no chance. Max Garvin back on after being injured then made a strong tackle before continuing on and scoring. He got another minutes later after forcing his way through a few tackles and leaving the keeper helpless. The poor Clitheroe keeper must have been glad  to hear the final whistle after Charlie let fly with another shot that gave him no chance.
