Following our game against Ladybridge this morning 5-3, just not sure how!. Their keeper was superb.

The boys travelled over to Bolton for an entertaining game played in baking hot sun.  Hoops somehow managed to find themselves behind at the half time break despite playing the better football in the first half with Alfie Kenyon particularly unfortunate to hit the post with one shot.

Albert playing in goal was superb with anything thrown at him making saves Tom Heaton would have been proud of, Albert told me he supported Burnley, so I felt it best to mention Tom!. Max Garvin was excellent playing in defence, always alert to players movement, strong in the tackle and always looking for a pass which he did on several occasions setting us up on the attack. Alfie was captain and gave a captains performance topped with his goal. Dom gave the Ladybridge defence all sorts of problems with his pace, shooting and passing and got a couple of goals. Max Woodall was his usual self, full of energy, strong and another who looks for a pass, even a stray boot in the face didn’t deter him. Charlie is another who is strong in a tackle and has a tremendous shot on him and gave us another option at corners.

The second half started well. After being fouled Alfie got up to put the free kick in the top corner, giving the keeper no chance. Dom added two with his customary strong shooting. We were back in the game but found a keeper determined to almost single-handedly keep us at bay, but for the heroics of their keeper we would have come out on top.

This was a good workout on a difficult day due to the heat. Well done boys!.
