Junior Hoops Under 8’s Saints v FC Strikerz Atletico

This was a very entertaining match between two good sides. Hoops were first to score when Dom Cox finished a fine team move in which Kell had passed to Max Woodall who moved the ball on to Max Garvin who in turn found Dom and he finished well. Strikerz equalised in what was an even first half but Dom again showed his quality when he got the ball on the left wing before working his way across the pitch beating two players before unleashing a right footed shot into the top corner. Once again Strikerz came back into it with an equaliser and for a period had the better of the chances but we had Albert Barker in net and he repelled everything that was thrown at him in that period. This let the lads grow in confidence knowing that Albert was in top form in goal and shortly before half time Dom had his hatrick after Max Garvin won a tackle before playing a nice pass to Dom who raced away from the defence and finished well.

The second half saw Hoops on top for the main part but Albert once again came to the rescue on occasions to ensure Strikerz wouldn’t add to their first half goals. From the kick off Jacob harassed the Strikerz defence into a mistake and having won the ball played a lovely pass to Max Woodall who scored with a low shot. Not long after we were awarded a corner which Max W took, Kell found himself free and finished with a nice first time right foot shot. The scoring was complete when Dom made a strong tackle before passing to Max W who scored again.
