Burnley Town u7s vs. Junior Hoops u7 Bears

Black Friday had new meaning as Coach Simon made full advantage of the discounted beer on offer and left match day duties to Assistant Tom selecting bears in the traditional green and white hoops proudly sponsored by Go Stroll full of porridge and raring to go. Tommy in goal, Elliott defending, Alex in midfield and Jonah and Lucas strikers. Super subs Josh, Luciano and Rocco.

Town start the ball rolling and Elliott is brave to block a blockbuster as Lucas and Alex combine well to weave a path through defence to set up Jonah whose shot is saved but Alex mops up the rebound. Clarets are not to be uncorked and striker unmarked to fire home the equaliser. Josh is on in early substitution and is straight in the action but a breakaway leads to a second goal for the town. Tommy makes a great save and smart thinking pass to Jonah step over and turn then slide rule pass to Alex to calmly slot home a second. This game is non-stop, end to end with crunching tackles and once again Alex shows great character and composure to score one of the fastest hat tricks of the season, another match ball in the trophy cabinet. Rocco and Luciano are on now as good defensive work by Elliott sets Josh clear and rolls in coolly past the despairing dive of the despairing Joe Hart like keeper. Rocco is master of midfield and wins a 50-50 tackle and arrows in a thunderbolt and then decides to better that with a thunderbolt better than the last thunderbolt. Half time.

Second half is as fast and furious as the first with Lucas recovering to tap in after good work from Josh and then back heels to Jonah for another goal straight from the coaching manual. Tommy makes a goal line save that goal line technology says is a goal line save and captured with great effect through the netting from the cameraladys great camera work, although needs lessons from Callums great camera work without the netting. Luciano is keeping the opposition quiet as Elliott sets off on another Messiee type dribble to slide rule pass to Josh, one two with Rocco to complete the scoring.

Man of the match performance battling in midfield with composure on the ball, pass and groove pass and grove master Rocco.

Don’t forget deposits to Coach Dean for Ski Sunday.

(For those unsure the slide rule pass is a term best to describe a highly accurate pinpoint ball slipped through the defence to an attacking player and one of the most deadly ways to carve open an opponent often leaving the attacker one on one with the Joe Hart and one that the great Jermain Defoe often profited from.)
