U7s Saints take on Rosegrove Tournament

Some great football was played on a very warm day. The Hoops started off against Pendle and were quickly into their stride. Dom Cox bagged a hatrick with one goal a fantastic shot with the outside of his right foot. He also found time to turn provider for Charlie Moores to get his first of the afternoon. Alfie Kenyon played in goal and was unlucky with the goal Pendle scored.

The boys then played Mill Hill and found their keeper on top form making a number of important saves. He got injured making one and unfortunately had to go off but his replacement continued in the same manner as we created loads of chances but couldn’t add to the goal that Alfie scored straight from the kick off. Mill Hill equalized and then scored again with their only other change in a game we dominated.

That result didn’t deter the lads as they bounced back in fine style against Rosegrove Raptors. Kellan Lukevitch took a throw that went to Alfie, his quick pass found Charlie and he finished well. Charlie got another before Alfie joined him on the scoresheet. The goal of this game followed when Kell intercepted a Rosegrove pass and went on a mazy run. He played a nice megs on one defender before passing to Charlie who scored. Dom got himself a couple of goals to finish off the game, the second a solo break from a Rosegrove corner.

That goalscoring run was carried into the next game against Fulledge. Dom and Max Woodall shared two goals each to start with before Charlie joined the two goals in a game club, the second after a cross from Dom that was expertly flicked on by Alfie before Charlie finished well. Max W and Charlie both then completed hatricks before Alfie scored a good solo goal. Max Garvin played in goal and what he had to do he did well.

Those two games seemed to take a lot out of the boys and their last game saw plenty of effort from all involved without any goals being scored by us.

Overall the boys can be really pleased with their efforts on a warm day in a well run tournament put on by Rosegrove.

Onwards and upwards!.
